Frequently Asked Questions
In Person or Remote Sessions
I primarily see clients in person but do also offer teletherapy sessions through a secure video platform.
Billing and Fees
The charge for an initial intake session (60 minutes) is $220. Standard follow up sessions (50 minutes) are billed at $180 per session. Payment is collected at the time of service and a credit card is requested to be placed on file. I am happy to provide a receipt for each session or to provide you with a “Superbill” at the end of the month that you can submit to your insurance. I accept cash, checks, credit cards and HSA/ FSA cards.
Insurance Reimbursement
Since I am not participating with any insurance networks, clients are encouraged to contact their insurance provider prior to the first session to inquire about their out of network benefits. Clients have the option to submit their receipts to their insurance for consideration for reimbursement consistent with their plan’s out of network benefits.
Good Faith Estimate
Effective January 1, 2022, under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act (the “No Surprises Act”), you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers must provide patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance with an estimate of the total cost for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.
Your health care provider should provide this Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one (1) business day prior to your service. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Be sure to retain a copy of your Good Faith Estimate.
